MB Zagłębie Sosnowiec Makes History in EuroCup Women 2023

We would like to share with you the latest updates regarding the women’s basketball team MB Zagłębie Sosnowiec, which is currently participating in the EuroCup Women 2023 tournament. In the group they are competing in, there are teams from other countries, such as the French BLMA and the Spanish Lointek Gernika Bizkaia. Unfortunately, the Israeli team Ramat Hasharon, originally qualified for this group, had to withdraw from the tournament due to the current armed situation in Israel.

The presence of MB Zagłębie Sosnowiec in the tournament is particularly significant as it is the first team from southern Poland to participate in EuroCup Women in many years. This marks an important moment for the entire sports community in the region.

It is also worth noting the extraordinary tourist attractions of both Silesia and Krakow, which serve as the backdrop for this event. The Silesian region impresses with its rich historical and industrial heritage, showcasing not only picturesque landscapes but also unique landmarks. For instance, the magnificent Wawel Castle in Krakow, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a symbol of Poland’s royal history. Its stunning architecture and rich collections make it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.

Another notable landmark in Silesia is the Historic Silver Mine in Tarnowskie Góry, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its underground mining tunnels and chambers. This unique site provides a fascinating glimpse into the region’s mining history and the techniques employed by miners over the centuries.
